Megan

I have just started my first year at Kings College London, studying American Studies. I have always had an interest in working with and teaching children. During my final two years at school, I volunteered at a local primary school. Having thoroughly enjoyed this, I chose to visit an orphanage in Romania to teach music and English to disabled and disadvantaged orphans of all ages. I am keen to continue this type of work and with the experience I have gained so far, I hope I am capable of making a difference in Ruiru.

I have always loved Africa, so it will be wonderful to give something back by working in the orphanage. I lived in Tanzania for three years when I was younger, during that time my father climbed Kilimanjaro and ever since then it has been something that I have wanted to conquer. Despite having travelled a lot I have never done any serious trekking, but I think it will be something that I will really enjoy. I am so glad that I am going to fulfil one of my ambitions as well as helping others.
